Who Ryan was
Ryan “Pie” Andersen spent his life building stages and filling rooms with music. He co-founded the Troubadour Festival and launched the Songwriter Series in Barrie — not because it was a career move, but because he believed music was how people found each other.
He left people better than he found them.
Every single time.
Ryan passed away in 2026. This foundation is how the people who loved him carry his light forward.
What we do
Each year, the Slice of Pie Foundation awards a grant to a musician of any age who is navigating a mental health challenge and needs support to stay connected to their music.
Studio time. An instrument. Lessons. Whatever stands between them and the music.
The application isn’t clinical. It’s two questions: tell us about your music, and tell us what you’ve been going through.
The Sticker Campaign
Leave your sticker. Keep his name alive.
People who loved Ryan are placing Slice of Pie stickers in places that matter — docks on Georgian Bay, music venues, gyms, mountain trails. Every sticker is a small act of remembrance. Together, they’re building a living map of the places Ryan would have loved.
